Surfer bitten by shark in California

A 28-year-old surfer was bitten by a shark in California late Thursday evening. The incident left lacerations on the surfers knee and his surfboard was scraped.

He was surfing in an area called Jacks Point (unable to find on Google)

Shark Research Committee President Ralph Collier is investigating the incident. He believes the shark was 8 to 10 feet long.

It is possible it could have been a great white, although white sharks around the coast of California are normally juveniles.

The incident has promoted the Vandenberg Air Force Base to close three public beaches in their control.

Another man was knocked out of his kayak possibly by a Great White in the same vicinity.

The incident has be updated on the 2014 shark bites/attack map.
